When you first decide to get married, the practical problems of organising the Ceremony and Celebrations will be far from your mind. Once you start thinking of what has to be done it may all seem quite daunting. Provided below is a calendar checklist to help you plan for that Unique and Special Day. (Guidelines only)

12 MONTHS

Decide on budget for the Wedding Book Church/Registry Office and Priest, Book venue for your Ceremony / Blessing and Reception Draw up a guest list consulting both families Choose Bridesmaids and Groomsmen Decide on honeymoon, book early Check passports

10 MONTHS

Start looking for a dress now Remember head dress and accessories to match Book a photographer Book your band for the Reception Book your car for the day Select/book your music for the Ceremony

4 MONTHS

Book pre-marriage course if required Order Wedding Stationary Order Wedding Cake Buy the Wedding Rings
Wedding Gown should be chosen by now

3 MONTHS

Have a Doctor and Dentist check up Book Hairdresser and Beautician for the Wedding Day Organise dress hire for Groom, Best Man etc. Purchase gifts for Wedding Party Give 3 months notice of marriage to the district registry office (1995 Family Law Act) Prepare newspaper announcement if required

2 MONTHS

Call to your venue Wedding Co-ordinator to make an appointment to go through details regarding the Wedding. Send out your invitations

1 MONTH

Collect your Wedding Dress Ensure all accessories are purchased Visit your Hairdresser and have a trial run Have a trial make-up session Arrange seating plan for the Reception

2-1 WEEK

Final fittings for the Bride and Bridesmaids Collect Dress Suits Discuss final details of the Ceremony and Reception with the pertinent parties Confirm Honeymoon arrangements Pack for the Honeymoon Liase with Wedding Co-ordinator for final check Confirm final numbers 3 full working days before your special day

THE DAY BEFORE

Visit your Beautician for manicure and pedicure Attend the rehearsal

YOUR WEDDING DAY

Ensure your baggage and cake are delivered to the venue early.
Make sure you eat something Visit Hairdresser and Beautician with veil and headpiece Make sure the Wedding Gown is pressed and steamed Ensure Best Man has the rings for the Ceremony
